Spring 2025

Exploring Appalachia

For spring at Tamburn Woods Forest School we will be exploring the natural world through the lens of the unique Appalachian culture.

Our journey through spring will include old-timey music, mysteries and legends, and homemade toys and games. Appalachian culture is vibrant with traditions and lore and grounded in a deep nature connection. The old ways are defined by resilience and self-reliance. Through songs, skills, and stories, we hope to inspire the children and to honor the memory of the diverse peoples and traditions that blended together to create the Appalachian culture.

Our sessions will also include discovering what the insects, birds, and trees in the Shenandoah Valley are up to in spring.

We will gather on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 4th through May 27th, from 10 am to 1 pm.

This Spring season is open to children ages 3 (toilet trained) to 7.
